Ms. Harkin originally hails from NYC and grew up in Nashville. She received her MFA in Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2020. Jamie is highly trained in physical theater/mime/mask/clown. She studied for 2 years with James Donlon and Leonard Pitt in San Francisco. In between undergrad and grad school, Jamie spent 6 years living and working in San Francisco, where she trained and performed extensively as a physical theater performer. While living in the Bay Area, she started her own devised/physical theater company and performed an original show with a group of actors in May 2016. Since then, she has done several other devised performance projects.
She currently works at Expression City in Nashville as a theater professor, teaching kids age 12-18 everything from dialects to physical theater. She also holds a faculty teaching position at Lone Star Music as a remote acting teaher. There she teaches musical theater, dialects and acting.
